Job Description

A leading joint venture delivering one of the largest public-sector construction projects in the region is seeking a Project Engineer to join its high-performing team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a multi-billion-dollar, ground-up development featuring modern facilities, secure infrastructure, below-grade parking, and an integrated public space.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily site inspections and coordinate deliveries with contractors
  • Interpret design drawings and provide guidance to field crews for material installation
  • Research and resolve drawing conflicts, interferences, and field discrepancies
  • Prepare and maintain documentation such as RFIs, sketches, as-built drawings, punch lists, and field change requests
  • Ensure completed work complies with drawings, codes, and specifications
  • Support coordination between design teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders during meetings
  • Provide layout control lines and elevation benchmarks for field crews
  • Participate in job walks, track quality control issues, and document progress with weekly photos
  • Assist with review of submittals, mock-ups, and shop drawings against specifications
  • Maintain and enforce QA/QC policies and procedures
  • Generate reports and manage project data using Procore or similar software
  • Understand and participate in project scheduling and sequencing
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and support the change management process
  • Attend and document project meetings with accurate, detailed minutes
  • Contribute to safety inspections and uphold site safety standards

Qualifications:

MUST BE A US CITIZEN

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • 5+ years of construction experience on large-scale projects ($150M+) in the NYC metro area preferred
  • Proficiency with blueprint reading and construction documents
  • Experience with Procore, Prolog, or similar project management software
  • Familiarity with scheduling tools (Primavera, MS Project) and estimating software
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of CAD 2D/3D is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and adapt quickly
