Job Description

An international food distributor in the Elk Grove Village, IL area is currently seeking an Operations Manager Candidate to join their organization. The candidate will have experience with overseeing daily activities including human resources, warehouse, dispatching, delivery operations. This is a full-time job, Monday to Friday direct hire with full benefits opportunity.

Responsibilities of Operations Manager :

· Maintain constant communication with management and staff to ensure the smooth operation of warehouse activities and delivery dispatch.

· Review and assign customer orders to delivery routes based on daily operational requirements, analyzing customer orders and driver availability.

· Delegate order preparation tasks to employees based on packing sheets and route information to ensure smooth workflow.

· Monitor order preparation and truck loading processes, ensuring timely departure of drivers and adherence to delivery schedules.

· Receive incoming products by verifying purchase orders, product specifications, and other data to ensure quality control standards are met.

· Oversee product shipments and arrange for airport pickup, as well as manage next-day delivery schedules.

· Track warehouse supplies and inventory, ordering replenishments as needed to maintain smooth operations.

· Participate in the hiring process for new employees, and arrange/conduct ongoing employee training.

· Perform additional tasks as assigned by management to ensure the operational success of the business.

Qualifications of Operations Manager :

· Minimum of 2+ years of proven experience in a warehouse operations management role

· Strong knowledge of warehousing, dispatching, and inventory control processes.

· Excellent ability to delegate responsibilities effectively while maintaining overall control of branch operations and ensuring excellent customer service.

· Preferred to have experience ensuring compliance with OSHA, DOT, FDA, USDA, and other relevant regulatory agencies

· Highly skilled in managing people and resolving conflicts in a professional and effective manner.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), with the ability to learn new applications as needed.

· Understanding of the Japanese language (verbal and written) is a plus, but not required.

· This position is in an office work environment. While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
