PrideNow is hiring a Facilities Manager for our Food Manufacturing client in Newark, NJ. This is a direct hire position. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus!

📍 Location: Newark, NJ

💵 Salary: $100,000–$120,000 per year (based on experience)

🕓 Schedule: Day Shift | Full-Time | Salaried

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee all plant maintenance and utilities operations in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This role will lead the Facilities Department to ensure safety, reliability, efficiency, and compliance across all production systems while supporting the company’s growth and quality goals.

Manage the Facilities Department to support:

  • Facility Safety
  • Capacity Assurance
  • Production Growth
  • Quality Assurance
  • Process equipment (including material handling equipment) and utility maintenance
  • Process and Utility efficiency improvements
  • Refrigeration System operations
  • Continuous Process and Plant improvements
  • Manage Direct Reports

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all maintenance and utilities activities , including equipment, refrigeration, and material handling systems.
  • Lead and develop a team of maintenance associates, fostering training, safety, and professional growth.
  • Oversee facility safety , capacity assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Implement and optimize predictive and preventive maintenance systems to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
  • Develop and manage capital and expense budgets for the plant.
  • Coordinate and monitor contractor performance to ensure compliance and cost effectiveness.
  • Ensure all new installations meet USDA , OSHA , and other regulatory standards.
  • Support process and utility efficiency improvement projects.
  • Maintain compliance with HAACP, SQF, GMP, and SOP policies.
  • Assist the Plant Manager with strategic projects and plant-wide initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • 5–7 years of maintenance or utility management experience , preferably in food manufacturing
  • Proven experience managing contractors and capital projects
  • Strong project management and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with vacuum packing systems and refrigeration systems
  • Experience with boiler operations (NJ Black Seal License preferred or willingness to obtain)
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, USDA, and other regulatory compliance standards
