Job Description
Our well-established construction firm is seeking a skilled
Construction Estimator to support bidding efforts for civil and geotechnical projects. This role involves analyzing construction documents, reviewing technical reports, and preparing competitive estimates. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in estimating earthwork, utilities, and paving projects, particularly within the Houston market. Key Responsibilities - Analyze construction drawings (paper and digital) and geological soils reports
- Review and verify project scope and material requirements
- Estimate labor, equipment, and productivity using historical data and industry knowledge
- Prepare and update project proposals and bid submissions
- Present project overviews to field teams
- Maintain organized documentation for internal use and market trend analysis
- Incorporate engineer-issued addendums and clarifications into estimates
- Collaborate with engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate submissions
- Flexibility to work overtime/weekends as needed
Our Ideal Candidate - Has 3-5 years of experience estimating earthwork, utilities, and paving
- Has worked on MUD residential and commercial projects in the Houston market
- Is proficient in Microsoft Office, Heavy Bid, AGTek, and AutoCAD
- Possesses strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Is comfortable interpreting technical documentation and construction plans
Benefits Compensation: $85k-$110k
